Meet the New Via TRM

Powering Global Experiences to Change Lives—and the World

Via TRM was founded in 2011 by Samantha Martin, an international educator who worked in a study abroad office. After growing ever more frustrated with an antiquated and overly complex software system, Samantha decided to create an innovative, intuitive, easy-to-use, and affordable software system.

Via TRM was born.

While Via is rooted in our founder’s original vision—a software system built by and for international educators—Via has continued to evolve. Powering global experiences for #everystudent and #everytraveler is what Via does every day through a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform that’s focused on Traveler Relationship and Risk Management.

At Via, we’re constantly innovating our software solutions based on feedback we receive from our partners who believe what we believe: that global experiences will change the world. We move toward the future centered in that belief.

(Re)Introducing Via

As Via has developed into a true TRM platform dedicated to Traveler Relationship and Risk Management, we’re reintroducing Via to the marketplace. Via’s focus on every traveler means leaders across the world have the tools they need to engage, enroll, manage, and stay connected with travelers from every background at every stage of their journey abroad.

Via’s signature software solutions, Via Global and Via Travel, now serve:

  • Education Abroad Offices
  • Faculty-Led Programs
  • Program Providers
  • Businesses

New Via—New Brand

To showcase our commitment to Powering Global Experiences, we revitalized our brand with the help of Christopher Reese, creative principal at Creative Recourse. With decades of experience in higher education marketing and more, we knew he was the perfect rebranding partner. At the top of Via’s wish list was a new logo that would say:

  • We are your trusted partner and platform for Powering Global Experiences
  • We were built by and for the international education community
  • We’re market leaders

The initial sketches from Chris Reese of Via’s new logo design.

Christopher listened deeply to our objectives and took the time to get to know Via. His goal was to capture the essence of Via in a crisp, modern logo that elevated the Via name into a graphically interesting, abstract symbol.

“I wanted to create a logo that was immediately readable but that would also give the viewer an ‘ah-ha’ moment of discovery,” he says, noting the dot over the “I” in Via can be interpreted many ways—from a traveler’s head to the sun.

Via CEO Ann Oleson says the new logo is perfect for the new Via and has been met by “sheer excitement.” People have also been sharing their interpretation of the logo, including one who saw a traveler running to catch a flight as well as a flight attendant sporting a tuxedo while leaning over to pick up a glass.

“Being of service reads loud and clear from the negative space and the letter shapes. It is genius,” the person shared.

When it came to Via’s color palette, Christopher says he capitalized on Via’s existing colors.

“Via had already set in motion a daring new direction by choosing a bold pink as the primary brand color,” he says. “I softened the pink somewhat for a more sophisticated approach. I then expanded the palette to include secondary colors with harmonious values, including the pedagogical use of a green and blue to represent the Via Global and Via Travel sub brands.”

Rebranding Effort a “Huge Success”

Via’s overall rebranding effort has been a “huge success,” Via’s CEO says. In recent months, the Via team has also gathered several case studies from their partners who are more than happy to share their experience with the new Via.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled with the result of our clarified message, enhanced product, redesigned logo, and client success stories,” she says. “It’s an exciting time to be at Via. We’ll never stop listening to our partners and evolving our software solutions based on their input, feedback, and needs. Our number one goal is to make their workday easier by providing them with innovative, intuitive, easy-to-use and visually appealing products so, together, we can keep Powering Global Experiences.”
